SRS-8442-SERIAL rack được trang bị hai backplane, bên trái dành cho card CompactPCI® Serial, bên phải dành cho board CompactPCI® Express (còn gọi là PXI Express™). Để kết hợp cả hai, Serial CPU CompactPCI® với cầu ghép nối vừa khít với cả hai khe hệ thống, như một cụm 10HP. Rack được cung cấp hai bộ nguồn có thể tháo rời, một bộ cho mỗi backplane. Ba quạt 120mm được gắn dưới khe cắm card giúp làm mát tối ưu. Tất cả các thành phần đã được chọn có độ tin cậy cao, đáp ứng yêu cầu cho việc sử dụng công nghiệp và các ứng dụng chuyên dụng.
