ICOMTECK Supplies Communication Equipment for Deployment at 33 Non-Stop ETC Toll Stations – Phase 2

Project Information
The Government of Vietnam has approved a plan to implement an electronic toll collection (ETC) system at all toll stations nationwide. Deploying the non-stop electronic toll collection system is a mandatory task to ensure transparency in toll operations, improve civility and convenience for road users, and save time and social costs.

Accordingly, Phase 1 of the ETC system was implemented at 44 toll stations, and Phase 2 covers 33 toll stations managed by the Ministry of Transport.

Phase 1 (BOO1): According to the latest report from the Ministry of Transport, ETC systems have been deployed and are operational at 40 out of 44 toll stations.

Phase 2 (BOO2): The Phase 2 automatic non-stop toll collection project, led by the investor Viettel Group, was required to be completed by the end of 2020.

Project Requirements
As part of the Government’s road transport infrastructure plan, the ETC system requires high-quality, reliable industrial equipment at each station to process and manage data flows from IP devices such as cameras and controllers.

The system integrator for this project sought reliable equipment suppliers who could also provide technical training and easy-to-understand documentation to shorten the learning curve for personnel.

In addition, the government set a deadline of December 31, 2020 for Phase II of the non-stop toll collection project. All BOT toll stations had to switch to electronic toll collection (ETC). Stations failing to implement ETC on time faced suspension of toll collection.

With the goal of completing automatic toll collection at all stations by the end of 2020, equipment for ETC operations was being urgently deployed across provinces nationwide. As a supplier of communication equipment—such as industrial computers and industrial switches—installed at ETC stations during Phase 1, ICOMTECK in Phase 2 of the BOO2 project supplied all communication equipment (industrial computers and industrial switches) for installation at 33 ETC stations nationwide, ensuring on-time delivery to the investor Viettel.

The NISE3800E2 also offers two PCIe x4 expansion slots.

2 – Gantry Industrial Switch: JetNet 5620G-4C / KORENIX

Key Features:
JetNet 5620G-4C is a full Gigabit Layer 2 switch with 16 Gigabit Ethernet RJ-45 ports and 4 Gigabit combo RJ-45/SFP ports. The four combo Gigabit Ethernet uplink ports provide high-speed connections to higher-level backbone switches using Korenix MSRTM network redundancy technology, ensuring reliable data transmission with seamless recovery in just milliseconds.

3 – Ethernet Switch for Lane Cabins: JetNet 5612G-4F / KORENIX

Key Features:
JetNet 5612G-4F is a pure Gigabit industrial Ethernet switch with 8 RJ-45 ports and 4 Gigabit SFP sockets for fiber network connections. Its rugged system design allows it to operate in outdoor harsh environments, resisting strong electromagnetic interference and temperature changes.

It delivers high performance and safety with network access control and continuous packet processing through intelligent buffer management for IP surveillance within the infrastructure.

4 – Optical SFP Module for Gantry Industrial Switches

Key Features:
The SFPGLX10 / KORENIX optical module ensures compatibility with Korenix Gigabit Ethernet switches, routers, NIC cards, and Gigabit SFP media converters. This hot-swappable 1000BASE-LX transceiver supports transmission distances up to 10 km over single-mode fiber (SMF) at a wavelength of 1310 nm.
